Cool Teams Impact

Think of the people, places, and things you love.

We bet they all exist on our shared home, this beautiful planet Earth…

  • Adeline and the Golden Gate Bridge.

  • Natasha's family in the redwood forest.

  • Helen Putnam Park in Petaluma.

  • Naomi foraging for mushrooms.

  • Raelyn's dog Bonnie in the snow.

  • SRJC's Shone Farm, Forestville, CA

  • Forest bathing on the Sonoma coast.

  • An abundance of delicious local food.

  • Birds in Santa Cruz, CA.

  • Flowers.

Worried about climate change and social division but not sure what to do?

You are invited to help create a cool future, one block at a time.

Imagine a future where connection creates abundance…

Life is rich in all the things we love and need most - supportive relationships, fresh food, clear water, clean air, safe shelter, beautiful landscapes, diverse wildlife, live entertainment, friendly laughter, interesting conversations, and time to breathe it all in.

If you long for this life but don’t know what to do…

We invite you to join us as we build a grassroots movement by knitting together neighborhoods across the country. Our Cool Community Teams toolkit can help you take meaningful action, rooted in the place you live, that contributes to a cooler future for all.

  • "Before starting my Cool Team, I saw lots of frozen energy and despair in people feeling disempowered, but with the new team spirit, people were empowered and spurred to action."

    Derek, Cool Team Leader, Petaluma

  • "As we met and discussed it together, I realized everybody in this block and in this neighborhood is interested in the same thing: making for a better world."

    Mike, Cool Team Leader, Petaluma

  • "In every collaboration, Cool Petaluma has demonstrated professionalism, fiscal responsibility, and a clear commitment to the resilience of our residents. We have seen first-hand the impact they are making in our community."

Peggy Flynn, City Manager, City of Petaluma

  • "Let me know when you have the local climate action modules ready to share beyond Petaluma. My daughter's little town in Decorah, Iowa, as well as Jeff's daughter's town, Guilford, Vermont, would be perfect communities to plant some seeds."

    Marcia, Cool Block member

  • "I am proud to think that my granddaughter will think of me as an activist for people and the planet. She sees me doing this work, and that's empowering her too."

Lisa Marie, Cool Team Leader, Petaluma

  • "After teaching high school and retiring, I realized my whole world was around teaching. I did not know anyone in my neighborhood. And this got me out meeting people. It was fabulous. I actually have people around me now and it feels so wonderful."

    Megan, Cool Team Lead, Petaluma
